Preble County Three-Day Release Source
Preble County has no official 72-hour or three-day release list. The Preble County Sheriff's Office Jail Information page links to a Daily Jail Roster, but the JusticeWeb destination is limited to current custody. It does not include a date selector, released-person filter, or historic archive. Nothing on the public interface reconstructs who left between two dates.
The absent feed matters most after several days have passed. A family may know that a hearing occurred Friday, yet check after the weekend when the live roster has already changed. Comparing screenshots from Friday and Monday would still be unsafe. A removed name could reflect a release, transfer, correction, court movement, or another custody event. The reliable three-day method is a date-bounded record request paired with the docket that authorized the movement.
Check Preble County 72-Hour Releases
Write down the start and end of the three-day window before searching. This keeps the request focused and helps separate a Friday order from a Monday departure. If the concern is a release that may have occurred within the current day, the 24-Hour Releases process puts more weight on immediate jail confirmation and alert lag.
- Search the current Preble JusticeWeb roster. A match means the person is displayed in this jail now. No match is only a starting point.
- Determine whether Common Pleas or Eaton Municipal Court controlled the case. Search the correct docket across the full date window.
- Read each entry in sequence. Look for bond, sentence, jail-time credit, dismissal, judicial release, community control, or an order involving another hold.
- Call Preble County Jail at 937-456-6323 for current operational status. Ask where a processed movement can be verified.
- Request the booking/release or custody-movement record for the exact dates. Ask for the departure time, authority, and receiving agency.

A Friday bond order, for example, may be posted before all bond terms are met. A later jail movement may fall on Saturday or Monday. Conversely, a person may leave Preble custody through transfer even when no community-release order appears. Holidays add the same practical delay. Do not force these different timestamps into one “release time.”

Preble County Release Roster Gap

Person-level results are protected by a CAPTCHA, and the research did not verify photo, bond, booking, or charge fields.

The screenshot documents current-search controls and cadence. It shows no 72-hour tab, release date range, or archive from which a weekend list could be drawn.
This roster quirk is a distinct Preble County limit. Fast refresh does not mean historic retention. A disappearance means only that the person is not displayed in current Preble custody after an update. Another jail, ODRC intake, federal authority, or community release may follow. Only the movement record can settle that local departure.
Preble County also has no verified downloadable Sheriff inmate app. The mobile JusticeWeb endpoint is simply a phone-formatted website. The Sheriff's Facebook page was not shown to keep a regular three-day release archive, so neither channel can replace the date-bounded record request.
Request Preble County Release Records
Use the Sheriff's online request form for a specific person and date span. A useful description asks for the existing booking/release or custody-movement record, with the booking number if known, admission timestamp, departure timestamp, release authority or reason, bond or court-order reference, and receiving agency if transferred. Do not ask staff to create a custom 72-hour report.
The Sheriff does not publish an ordinary release-record copy fee, a retention period, or a promised turnaround. Ohio's Public Records Act, ORC 149.43, generally calls for prompt inspection in regular business hours and copies within a reasonable period at actual cost, subject to exemptions. Sensitive fields may be redacted. Request the record in an existing medium when practical.
For in-person access, the Sheriff's Office and records route is 1139 Preble Drive in Eaton. The Common Pleas Clerk is at 101 East Main Street, third floor, and lists weekday hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Eaton Municipal Court tells users to contact or visit when verified information is needed. Each office can certify only its own record.
Read Preble County Release Reasons
“Bond” means detention ended subject to the active case and conditions. It does not mean the charge ended. “Time served” or sentence completion should be checked against the sentence and jail-time credit. A dismissal can remove one case while another hold remains. “Transfer” means custody continued under another agency. Judicial release or post-release control may end physical prison custody while legal supervision continues.

If ODRC later lists the person as Incarcerated, the Preble departure was likely a state transfer. If ODRC shows APA Supervision, prison custody has ended but state supervision continues.
Preble County Releases Beyond Custody
The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, or ODRC, offender search is appropriate only for an Ohio prison commitment or state supervision. A county-jail-only release may never appear there. The Released filter can include qualifiers such as judicial release or death, so open the complete detail. APA Supervision means the person left prison but remains under state authority.
VINE provides prospective notice for a matching county or state custody record. It can alert on general release and other custody events, yet notifications can lag and must be checked with the controlling agency. BOP covers sentenced federal custody. USMS manages much federal pretrial custody without a public person locator. ICE uses a separate civil immigration system. These databases are not interchangeable with Preble's missing three-day feed.
